Terms and conditions
General
Algebretto has the right to refuse tutoring in situations where it seems that the student wants the tutor to do their homework for them.
Liability
Algebretto offers absolutely no guarantees or promises that the student will pass their math class. If the student receives negative consequences for getting help when they shouldn’t have, Algebretto is not responsible.
Payments and cancellations
All private tutoring sessions are to be paid in advance, unless otherwise agreed upon. The student may reschedule their tutoring session if needed, preferably at least 2 days before the scheduled time.
In the case of no-shows and late cancellations (as defined below), the session has to be paid in full, regardless of whether the payment for that session has already been made or not. Exceptions to this rule are emergencies, which are dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
- A no-show is a situation where 15 minutes has passed since the time when the session was supposed to start and the student has not showed up or communicated that they will be late.
- A late cancellation is when the session is canceled later than 12 hours before the scheduled time.
If there are unpaid sessions, Algebretto has the right to refuse to tutor the student until those have been paid.
Referral program
In the following, an “existing student” means someone who has paid for at least 2 private tutoring sessions with Algebretto, and a “new student” means someone who has never paid for private tutoring with Algebretto in the past. The referral program is an opportunity for the existing student to refer a new student and earn free tutoring for both students.
The referral program works as follows: The existing student gets a referral code and gives it to someone they know. This person, the potential new student, sends an email to erika@algebretto.com to schedule a free introduction call (about 20 minutes), mentioning the referral code. Once the new student has paid for at least five (5) tutoring sessions, then both the existing student and the new student will get one free tutoring session.
Notes: The five tutoring sessions do not have to be paid in a single payment. The existing student also has the option to give their free tutoring session to the new student, in which case the new student will get two free sessions. There is no limit to how many new students an existing student can refer. If the existing student has unpaid tutoring sessions, their code cannot be used until those have been paid.
Algebretto has the right to modify or terminate the referral program at any time.
Refunds
There are no refunds for tutoring sessions that have already taken place. In general, there are no refunds for prepaid sessions either, but I realize that sometimes life happens. If you feel like you need a refund, please contact me at erika@algebretto.com and we’ll figure it out.
